Joining School, Family, and Community in a partnership to promote healthy, resilient, and drug free youth and to prevent youth suicide.

The Prevention Network Coalition Capacity Building Grant will allow expansion of Coalition initiatives!

The Coalition’s second (2023) $50,000 Prevention Network grant award will allow us to expand our work. Funding has been allocated for leadership training for our Chippewa Valley and Dakota High School Coalition Teen Councils; to send 3 active Coalition members to the CADCA Mid-Year Training in Dallas, Texas this summer;  and to implement an on-line survey of parents of district elementary students. This data will better identify parenting needs at that educational level.

These grant funds will be used to bring John Underwood, Olympic trainer and coach and founder of the Human Performance Project to the district (Dakota on 9/18/23 and Chippewa Valley High School on 9/19/23) for Life of an Athlete trainings of student athletes and their coaches. The training focuses on healthy lifestyle and wellness as well as the performance effects of substance use and is a collaboration of the Coalition and Chippewa Valley and Dakota High Athletic Departments.
